I have tried few waffle recipes before but i guess i love this one most so far ! High in fiber & complex carbohydrate. Perfect breakfast for us when we get tired of pancakes. I put wildberries, which is good for metal detox, then banana slices, whipped coconut cream & maple syrup on top. Good for about 3 to 4 people.
? RECIPE
? Ingredients:
▪︎ 1 3/4 oat meal
▪︎ 2 cups water
▪︎ 1/3 cup corn grits
▪︎ 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil or 1/8 cup nuts
▪︎ 1 tbsp flax seeds, optional
▪︎ 3/4 tsp Himalayan salt
▪︎ 1 1/2 tbsp maple syrup or coconut sugar
▪︎ 2 pcs of dates, soaked & softened, chopped
▪︎ 1 tsp vanilla, optional
? Instructions:
▪︎ Preheat waffle iron. If your iron is old and worn, you will probably have to oil well.
▪︎ Blend all ingredients til creamy. Then cook using a waffle maker according to their instructions.
▪︎ Pour mixture into preheated waffle iron and close the lid. Bake until steam stops rising and the waffle is golden brown and crisp.
▪︎ Remove to a cooling rack and serve.
▪︎ Don’t stack waffles when they’re hot, or they’ll become soggy & compressed. Use a toaster to add crispness and reheat leftovers.
▪︎ Delicious with a warm fruit sauce (blueberry, strawberry or any fruit native to your country) or sliced fresh peaches. For something really special, try adding non-dairy ice cream or whipped coconut cream..
